He was born in Norway. His dad went there for his further education there and then he and his mother came back when Johny was two years old. He lived in hometown Garhdiwala until the age of 19 and then moved to Sydney. He studied in both convent and govt. school, He really wants to re-live school life if he ever gets a chance and that was one of the main reason to Debut with School Di Kahani which he wrote and sung as dedication to his school (Khalsa Senior Secondary School Garhdiwala ) and schoolmates.
He always had a passion for music from childhood. At the age of 14, one of his cousins forced him to sing at a school function and he was appreciated by everyone there. He then did few appearances in school events like youth festivals but that was it. He then moved to Australia. Once settled himself a bit into that country, He thought, this is time to give passion a chance and then he talked to Sahil hoogan in Melbourne and the rest is history.
He did debut track School di Kahani in July 2012. This song is special not just because it was his Debut track but also because it relates to himself. He wrote the lyrics, music was done by Sahil hoogan and the song was launched by Featureact label.( Durga Ravula). The song got good appreciation from the audience and gave him enough confidence to keep on working in the industry until today and in future too.
His family doesn’t have any musical background. Funny enough, his hometown or nearby villages also don’t have any musical influence as such. But they have never stopped Johny from working on music. On the contrary, they actually motivate him sometimes to work harder and focus more on music.
Did he ever feel disappointed in the musical journey? There have been times when he had felt demotivated and was not getting results/outcomes as expected. He then made a positive change. Johny stopped expecting things and started just focusing on work better and harder and since then he never felt disappointed.
Johny Seth’s hit track Pyaar ik tarfa released in 2016, was a romantic sad track, penned beautifully by his brother from another mother Manish Singh Dhanjal(Mani Kaafir). The song is about a girl talking about her true love (one-sided) and has a lot of other emotions in it. The music was composed by very talented Omar Malik from Lahore, Pakistan. It was released under the production of Vikas Sethi & GagS2dios. All of the promotions and publicity designs are being looked after by Pankaj Sharma from Team PS. Other hit songs of Johny Seth are Afwaah, Mascara, Aakhri Mulaqat, Manzil, Beparwah, Laptop.
His first experience on stage was actually amazing. He sang Judaa ho ke bhi originally sung by Atif Aslam. Everybody had given him a standing ovation. That was the only time he felt nervous on stage and after that, always loved performing for audiences.
