DILJOTT: An Actress, Model, Singer, A Beauty With Brain

In many fields of creativity and art, it is observed that the artists don’t do well in the studies and this is what makes them artists. This may sound awkward but we all know it isn’t. But this young lady when entered in the field of Punjabi industry, she was well graduated and along with a masters degree in Human Rights, although her academic career is also been excellent throughout her studies. Came up with the debut in a Punjabi song “Patiala Peg” opposite the most famous Diljit Dosanjh, Diljott left a remarkable mark on every Punjabi heart. But before entering to her successful stories, we must know some of the historical facts about her.

Born in Punjab, Diljott is in love with Punjabi cinema from the childhood and active from the year 2014, she is especially known for her natural acting and singing in Punjabi industry. Diljott is a trained Kathak, Western and Folk dance, pursuing her career in the creative field and her performances are earning accolades day by day all around the globe. Once she attended Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares in Mumbai and after being clicked by the ace photographer, Dabboo Ratani, she was featured in the ads for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Various Clothing Brands and on the cover page of National magazines. Being a Punjabi and Punjab born, along with the love for the language and culture, she chose to do Punjabi Cinema. Her career in Punjabi industry started with her debut music video track with Diljit Dosanjh in 2014 and she did the lead role in film “Idiot Boys” after the video track but failed to impress the audience.

Diljott also did a video song Sohni-The Real Punjaban and got the attention of audience once again. Her first debut film in Punjabi cinema was the very first movie of Happy Rai Koti “Teshan” along with the artists like Yograj Singh, Karamjit Anmol, Happy Rai Koti, Nisha Bano and others. Then she was again seen in the leading role “Sabar” in Yaar Anmulle 2 in 2017.

In February 2017 Diljott released a romantic single track sung by her “Tere Rang”. Which was loved by the audience and the song was selected for a Hollywood film “5 Weddings” starring Nargis Fakhri and Rajkumar Rao. And this song made her part of the film as the character of “Harleen”. “Punjabi by Nature” was her next movie as lead actress in 2017. She also released a beat song in July 2017 “Akh Mataka”.

Along with her career and busy schedule, Diljott is also very soft hearted and is very near to the society that is leaving behind the differently able and old persons. So keeping this in mind she did her masters in Human Rights  and her thesis was based and titled as “Human Right Concerns of the differently able: A Brief Study” and her paper under the same title was published in International Journal of Humanities and Social Studies (The IJHSS Journal Volume IV; Issue II Feb 2016). She visits old age homes and to orphans, slums on special occasions and spread the joys. Working with a NGO-Arrive Safe (On road safety since 2015), Diljott in past was involved with activities of United Nation Associations, India and had the opportunity to visit United Nation Headquarters at Geneva, Switzerland in 2014.

Although the future project she is working on is Pollywood Movie Nanak which is to be released in 2018, produced by Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty, Direction by Rakesh Mehta and starring with Jassi Gill, Japji Kaira, Sardar Sohi, Anita Devgan and others.

Diljott also performed at Virasat International Punjabi Film Festival and Awards at Melbourne, Australia in 2016.
